Palo Alto epoxy floor coatings
Yes, we pour floors in Palo Alto
Palo Alto runs from the Baylands across 101 to Stanford and the foothills along 280. Downtown on University Avenue and the shops on California Avenue anchor the city, and Stanford Research Park fills the land along Page Mill Road. It is a straight drive up the freeway from our base in San Jose.
The homes here span a century. Professorville and Old Palo Alto carry houses from the early 1900s, many with small detached garages out back. Midtown and the south side are full of Eichlers and ranch homes from the 1950s. And almost every street has a new rebuild on a fresh slab. Each of those floors starts the same way in our epoxy flooring work: a close look at the concrete before anyone talks about color.
What a Palo Alto slab has been through
The oldest garages near Stanford were built for a Model T, not an SUV. The concrete in them can be thin, patched in places and worn smooth in two tire tracks. Some of it is in great shape under the dirt. Some of it is not. The only way to know is to look closely and check for moisture before picking a system.
Then there are the rebuilds. A new house means a new slab, and new concrete needs time to cure before a coating goes on it. It also comes with a steel trowel finish so smooth that paint slides right off. A diamond grind opens that surface up so the base coat can bite in. Old slab or new, the grind comes first.
What we handle here
Floors we pour in Palo Alto
Flake and Solid Garage Floors
The job Palo Alto asks for most: a gray slab that has been catching oil, dust and tire marks for years. We grind it back to open concrete, fill the cracks, roll the base coat and seal it under a polyaspartic topcoat. Here is how we build garage floors in Palo Alto.
Hand Poured Metallic Floors
The floor Josh is known for. Reflective pigment moved by hand through wet resin, so the floor has veins and movement and never repeats. Entries, studios, showrooms and show garages in Palo Alto. See the metallic floors we pour in Palo Alto.
Rooms Inside the House
Studios, gyms, laundry rooms, mud rooms and converted garages on a slab. The old floor comes up, the slab gets ground, and a sealed coating goes down that you can live on. Same build we use on home floor coatings in Palo Alto.
Shop, Studio and Warehouse Floors
Palo Alto businesses run on floors that take carts, boots and spills all day. A coated floor stands up to that and cuts the cleaning down to a mop, and we work around your opening hours. Have a look at our commercial floors in Palo Alto.
Why Palo Alto calls us
Why Palo Alto homeowners call Josh
You get a straight answer about your slab. If an old garage floor near Stanford is sound, we say so and quote it. If it is cracked through, sinking or breaking up, we tell you that too, and we tell you a coating is not the fix. That honest look at the concrete comes first on every estimate.
Then comes the finish. Palo Alto homes are not all alike, so the floors should not be either. Metallic floors are mixed to the colors you pick, and flake comes in blends and chip sizes to suit a house of any age. Josh brings the samples and works through them with you at the estimate.
Where you will find us around Palo Alto
University Avenue and the streets around it, from Professorville to Crescent Park and Old Palo Alto, hold the oldest homes. California Avenue sits in the middle of town, the south side along Middlefield and Charleston carries the Eichler tracts, and Barron Park sits off El Camino near the foothills. Stanford Research Park, along Page Mill Road, is where the lab and office floors are.
Each part of town brings its own kind of concrete. Old detached garages with patched slabs. Eichler slabs with heat pipes inside. Brand new slabs on rebuilt lots. We grind each one, read it, and build the floor to fit what we find.

Straight answers about your epoxy floor questions
Do you come up to Palo Alto from San Jose?
Yes. Palo Alto is about twenty five minutes up 101 or 280 from our base. Send the form with a few photos of the floor and Josh will set a time to come look at it.
My Palo Alto garage is from the 1920s. Can the floor still be coated?
Often, yes. Old concrete is frequently sound under the stains. We grind it back to open concrete, fill the cracks and pinholes, then build the floor. If the slab is too thin or broken to hold a coating, you will hear that at the estimate.
We just rebuilt our house. When can the new garage slab be coated?
New concrete needs time to cure first, usually about a month. A moisture check before work starts tells us it is ready. The smooth trowel finish on a new slab is ground open so the coating can grip.
Can you coat an Eichler floor in Palo Alto?
In many cases, yes. Eichler slabs often carry radiant heat pipes, so we find out where they run before the grinder starts. The grind takes off only the top of the surface.
Do you repair cracked or sinking concrete?
No. We coat sound concrete. A slab that is sinking, heaving or broken needs a concrete contractor first, and we will tell you that plainly rather than coat over it.
Do you do floors for labs and offices in Palo Alto?
Yes. We coat commercial floors, and the work can be planned around your hours. Tell us the size of the space and what the floor goes through each day.
